Budget wonk Jonathan Bydlak joins R Street Institute
This week, Jonathan Bydlak joined the R Street Institute to head its new Fiscal and Budget Policy Project.
“Jonathan brings deep expertise in fiscal issues to our Governance team,” said R Street Vice President of Research Partnerships, Kevin Kosar. “He is an intellectual entrepreneur, and respected in the budget policy community and on Capitol Hill. I am delighted to have him on the team.”
Jonathan also will be a member of the nonpartisan Legislative Branch Capacity Working Group, and his work will be highlighted on LegBranch.org. His title is Director of the Fiscal and Budget Policy Project.
Previously, Jonathan was the founder and president of the Coalition to Reduce Spending, and headed the Institute for Spending Reform. He is the creator of SpendingTracker.org, a real time spending data site, which he will continue running at R Street.
Jonathan received his A.B. in economics with minors in finance and political economy from Princeton University. He subsequently worked in finance at Bridgewater Associates and oversaw Ron Paul’s 2008 Presidential fundraising operation.
