President rejects findings of study on claims of partisanship falsification

On Thursday, President Trump rejected the findings of an independent, official report regarding Puerto Rican fatalities due to Hurricane Maria. The president tweeted his belief that the data was fabricated “by the democrats in order to make me look as bad as possible when I was successfully raising Billions of Dollars to help rebuild Puerto Rico.” Such a rejection of data, analysis and facts by those holding a position of political power threatens our nation’s democratic norm of fact-based legislating.
