Podcast: How the House Committee on Administration is trying to help get the chamber back to work safely
House Committee on Administration Ranking Member Rodney Davis (R, IL) recently spoke with Tom Temin of Federal News Network in mid-July.
The committee’s efforts have become all the more important after this week’s le affaire Gohmert, wherein the Texas GOP legislator tested positive for coronavirus and clomped about the Capitol Complex. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D, CA) subsequently issued a mask mandate.
The failure of House leadership to agree to a bipartisan plan to enable the chamber to operate safely has antagonized congressional staff and other Capitol employees, giving the impression that chamber leaders are unable or unwilling to transcend anxieties about political optics and needlessly putting lives at risk.
